National
Heroes Park
Kingston
National
Heroes Park is dedicated and named in honour of the country's
National Heroes. Buried in the Park are some of the country's
National Heroes.
In the
Park are the National Shrines dedicated to each of the Heroes.
The Park is well kept and there is twenty-four hour security
provided by members of the Jamaica Defence Force (J.D.F.).
There is a very colourful display with the changing of the
guards every hour.
The Park
was previously known as the George IV Memorial Park, but with
Independence the name of the Park was changed to National
Heroes Park.
Before
being designated as a park, it was a large open lot known
as Race Course.
