The National Gallery charts the growth and development of Jamaica's greatest artistic endeavors, from Taino Indian artifacts to Spanish and English colonial art, from the early pioneers to the very latest contemporary works by Jamaican artists.

All of Jamaican life is shown through these collections: from the depiction of rural Jamaican life and landscape, to the people and work of the city; from religious visions, history and social criticism to portraiture, tradition, fantasy and folklore.
