Parks to visit in Jamaica

Claude Stuart Park
St. Mary

In 1977 the Victoria Park in Port Maria, St. Mary was renamed the Claude Stuart Park. It was named in honour of Claude Stuart a former Member of Parliament for St. Mary (1955-1962) and Minister of Health (1955-1959).

In the Park is a Cenotaph commemorating the victims of World War 1 & 2, the monument in honour of Tacky, the rebel slave who led the Slave Rebellion of 1760, and Sir Charles Price, member of the House of Assembly of Jamaica for St. Mary 1756-1761 and speaker in 1746, and 1756 to 1763.
